APRIL 5-6-7 2013 GATR OPEN RIDE @ GULCHES - DISCUSSION THREAD

im taking that friday off, so i plan on being their around noonish.  setup camp. maybe do some light wheeling till folks start showing up.  hopefull we will get a bit of friday riding in before the full Sat. ride.

are we planing on splitting into groups again?  and are we going to have a guided nite ride like last time.  if you have never been on a nite ride. its alot diff. than during the day.  dark makes it mo-scary. which
makes it mo-fun  lol   they generally take the least modded rig. and the ranger has that rig right behind him, so that way we dont go anywhere the least modded rig can go.

well we had one last year, at least for the 1st part.  thats why i was asking, i thought the guy did a good job when we went.

Skip's guided night ride was great last year!  Since he closed the park down before dark, we were able to run some of the "one-way" trails in the opposite direction, which was fun.

Night ride is friday, or saturday?  Is most of the crew camping Friday night or Saturday night or pretty much both?

My last trip to Gulches was last Fall with GATR... stock rig, just a month off the dealer's lot.  I left it parked at the campsite all weekend and rode with others.  Can't wait to get back there and see what it will do now that I have the lift, tires, etc.  I've been on other GATR rides since then, but I don't think they lived up to what I'm expecting at Gulches.

Just realized, though, it's less than 2 weeks away and I've been procrastinating on my next mod... lights. Danny and Adam, I'll have to give you a call and see whether I can get in to get some lights added next week. If it's too late, I may have to spend Fri and Sat night sitting by the campfire with my rum & coke.

I would love to go but I have to go in jeep build over drive mode to complete it my 1 ton by the end of the month. Maybe but probably can't.

60% chance of rain Thurs (4th), so it looks like a good possibility of a wet ride. 
It's a week away but the way this year has gone, I would think sometime during the weekend we will see rain.

I noticed on the Gulches web site they sometimes close due to weather.  Is there a plan "B" if the weatherman is actually right for next week?
