Tubing bender
« on: August 05, 2013, 04:06:18 PM »
I want to make a t case skid plate for my XJ similar to this one:

For my Clayton crossmember. Thinking a piece of HREW would work or if anyone has a piece of DOM I could have or buy cheap. I'll measure around down there but looking for help on the bender part... Probably source some 1/4" plate for the skid part and I can weld it together.

Will I'm fabing up a trusses for my jeep now out of chrome moly. Don't know how much you'll need but your welcome to what is left and my tubing bender when I'm done. I'll cut the one for the front tomorrow and let you know what is left over. PM me the measurements and I'll see what I can do

Talked to my friend on NAXJA. He seems to think I'll need a whole 10' stick since the bends take up a lot. Probably go with 1 1/4 HREW and 1/4" plate and have him help me out. He lives in Decatur I think... He told me to buy the metal and he'll help me fab it up too.

Great. I'll need your friend to help me fab up a step for my wife on the passenger side. Any taller and she won't be able to get in.
So new to this that I don't even know what to ask!!!!

Ok lol. He is a fabricator by trade, you should have seen his XJ, The Teal Bitch, before it was chopped.

Saw someone use this, but attached it to the inside. It worked great & doesn't hang down.
