Well, I got some last minute details worked out and I am ready for Tellico.

1.  New valve cover gasket.
2.  New oil filter adapter o-rings.
3.  Installed HD Tera tie rod flip on my current Tera high steer kit.  Tie rod is now ablove the axle.  Mucho clearance.
4.  Oil change
5.  New air filter

Cool Chris. I just got a pair of full soft doors for the Jeep. Bought them from Alex today. Had to trim a little rubber off the bottom seal to get the driver door to fit good. Passenger door was perfect... go figure. Atleast now I don't have to lug around my steel doors spring/summer. Gonna try to finish up my rock lights tommorrow. Just need to wire them up. I am ready to go now!
I've grown tired of this.

Today I...
changed engine oil
changed gear oil
new air filter
greased the steering
tire rotation
adjusted toe-in

and then
I inspected my drum breaks and on the passenger's side all this fell on me  :o

Aren't you glad you pulled the drums?  ;)  Now you know where the howling noise was coming from.  Time for a drum hardware kit.

No the howling is still there  :(   But there's no grinding and popping anymore  ;D

I'm still not sure what the howling is. Could just be a driveline vib. It sounds like a crotch rocket hammering down. It's loud. Only does it when I'm on the gas and above 15 mph. The jeep is quiet as hell when I'm not on the gas. Even when I'm going 60. BUt as soon as I barely touch the gas agian it sounds like I'm flooring a ricer civic or something. I can't figure this out. I have no idea what would make that much noise and not make it all the time. I swore it had something to do with that fuel line. Fixed that and swore it was the same thing as the noise the drum was causing. Can't figure it out. As soon as something breaks I'll know what it is  :P

I don't know, could still be something with the drum. But before I removed all the crap from the drum (with the jeep on jacks) when I spun the shafts all the stuff in the drum was making the racket that I had heard on the jeep. After I removed all the crap there was no more noise when I spun the shafts. But I think that would be making a sound all the time as it was doing before. This sound is still just as loud and only does it when I use the gas  ???

So did you get new hardware put back on the drums yet?  Also, the only other things to check for the howling noise in the rear are :

1.  Rear driveshaft u-joint
2.  Rear wheel bearings
3.  Carrier bearings
4.  Pinion bearing

Have you had the rear diff. cover off for an inspection?

Yeah I pulled the cover last week and everything in there looked perfect. A few shavings in the bottom but no chips or pieces whatsoever. The teeth on all the gears looks good, but I can't say that I really looked at any of the bearings.

Where should I start on this drum? Would it be easier to just throw a whole new one on there? I'm pretty sure I would have to pull the shafts but that would allow me to check the shaft bearings while I'm at it.

Damn.... a least it's not predicting torrential downpours like we had in December (knock knock). Temperatures look good though, and maybe it won't rain too much if at all.
