2006 WK Need help taking off piece

I am getting a lift soon on my WK but for now i would like to know how to take off the plastic parts closest to the ground. http://imgur.com/GPYQxd5 There is about 8-10 rubber/plastic screws on each side holding it onto the car. Ive tried using pliers to grip the screws and twisting but they are not coming out. i would also like to know the official name of this part so i can research it better online as i havent been able to find any help
