Streetable at 30 mph or 60+? How do you mean?

It's hard to have a hard core trail rig that is hwy worthy for long trips.  Not impossible but takes more effort.

You need to drive it to see if it has road manners.  A lot of rigs I looked at awhile back were trail rigs and they worked well off road but every joint was sloppy and worn out and they wouldn't hold a lane on the road and bounced all over.

Which tires are those? Swampers? Not sure but some like those are not known for being nice and round for the road above 40, and hard. Light rig.

What gears are in it?  Will that motor push it to highway speeds ok? What will rpms be at speed? Those are heavy tires.

So a road test will tell you what you have.

I don't see how you could go wrong with either of these.

If it were my wife though (and if my wife liked trail riding), she would prefer the smaller Toyota because it would be easier for her to navigate the trails with.

If you don't get the Toyota, please point me in the direction of where I could look into getting it.

Will do. I'm 90% sure it's the one I'm going with, but I'll let you know if something changes.

If it doesn't have a current tag and emissions plus a clean title, I'd stay away from getting it for possible street use.

It has a clean title and current tag. All electrics work. Still on leafs. Kingpins recently replaced, heims recently replaced on tie rod. Previous owner used to drive it to the trails and back. No trailering. Although that would be ideal, I just don't have the tow setup right now.

I would go with a tow rig and trailer first. But that is just my opinion. That way she can ride and drive your rig before she gets one, to make sure she likes it. Plus then your not diving yours everywhere.

Yeah, I hear ya on the tow rig, but I'm going to see how she does with it. Plus I don't want her learning a manual on my Jeep : ) She really wanted it so that her dad could come out with us and give them something to do together. He has been out with us before and loved it, so we will get the whole family involved.

It looks like I'll pick it up this Sunday.

So what's the axle gears in the 60 and 14 bolt? The lower the better with the engine so it can rev.
