Speed and jeep. That's amusing. Most guys here are happy to keep it steady above 65.

I wouldn't do coil overs for 99% road.  Go with a good triple rate spring, and use that $ elsewhere.

Why not coil overs for the road? Set up properly it's better.

For a heavy JK to run the desert with speed or desert like area you will need 2.5's. 2.0's would work but then you more than likely need bypasses.

Go with the 05+ SD axles. Cheaper and will work similar to a currie or dynatrac set up. I think from buying stock to my built out front axle with includes full hydro I'm around $5700 (psc ram and links, gears, install, rcv, highsteer knuckle work and arms, new ball joints, and detriot). Cheaper than a currie

Where did you get your SD axles?

Cause...

Not better ride unless tuned for the road

On the road you don't flex much and don't use but about 2" of the travel.

I am with Doug on this one. If your 99% road, coil overs are overkill and waste of money. Buy the ripp. Unlike Clark I am not satisfied with any speed below 80mph in the jeep.

Junk yard and then install everything.

Tuning for the whoops or like area will be a little firm for the road but not terrible. He is also talking about jumping and speed, upon which a coil spring and shock cannot handle. This is going off what he said. The stock axles won't handle that abuse either, but he said speed and jumps.

Yes, C/O are over kill for the road but not what he is after. I wouldn't even run an ORI. ORI change so much in height due to the outside temperature (gas laws).

Better question: where are you driving your Jeep like this around here in the south? I was going to build a Jeep speed go fast XJ on 3 links and junk but there is nothing in the south for it.

I am not sure he was serious about jumping. He did an internet laugh after typing that

It is possible to hit jumps with speed around this area. My first race this year is at D-town using their track with some table tops. My junk will have some hang time for sure with some throttle.
