Forgot to post up but a buddy and me had a small beer tasting over the weekend:

My Favs:

  • Three Floyds Zombie Dust
  • Stone Mint Chocolate Stout

Those sound quite interesting

Zombie Dust is one of my all time favs.

Next time I'm at Total Wine or Greene's I'll see if they have it, but I really don't know where to find the old school stuff.    You could always call their distributor and they can tell you where to find it.  Google can help you find the Michelob distributor for north Georgia.

Go to your liqueur store & ask them to order you a case. All stores I've gone to will normally special order anything you want. I used to do that when I was really digging the Sam Adams Cream Stout. Outside a variety pack, I couldn't find it & didn't like to buy a 12 pack for three beers.

Found a Stone Enjoy by 4.20.14 IPA at my local shop.  I just enjoyed it and it was good.

I asked about zombie dust, people said it was not available except local to that brewery?

I just finished judging the American Pale Ale category (think Sierra Nevada Pale Ale) in a home brew comp.  5 out of 10 beers I would ask for my money back at a bar; 3 out of 10 I would consume, but never order again; 2 out of 10 I may order again.  The quality of home brew has declined over the last couple of years, at least at the competition level.  It used to be the apa category was tough competition...not at this contest. :(  luckily some people bought in beer that was not entered into the comp and was good.

Soon as I move I'll be getting my homebrew set up back up and running.  We'll get together and have a tasting.

I really need to brew again...I was forgetting the things I needed to tell the brewers to do to correct their flaws since it has been so long since I brewed (It's been about 18 months since I brewed solo).

I have a really nice set of brew toys, but I quit drinking heavily, which negated my desire/need to brew.

Yeah that's true.  I think you can only find it in Indiana and the Chicago area.  Would love to check out their brewpub in Indiana some day.
