My favorite in Ashville is Wicked Weed.

oh heck yeah.  They have a Black IPA that is real good.  And one called Hopburgler, interesting and good.  Ashville is a win

Have you tried the Stone Enjoy By MM-DD-YY beers yet?  They are so good but can be hard to find.  My local growler shop had some last week and it was good!

I'm a big Stone fan, have not tried that new one yet.  Have not seen it at all.

Jonathan, I re-titled this so it is a catch all thread....good job starting this, we needed it!!!

You might hear awesome things about Pliny the Elder.   I have had that beer a couple of times.  The first time I had it, it was the best beer I had ever had (smuggled in from California to Georgia).  Then I had it in Philly last year (only spot on the East Coast you can get it) at a bar and it was a great IIPA, but not as special as I remembered it from the first time I had it.

During that trip to Philly I had a Boneyard Nefarious...the best IIPA I have ever had in my life.

Adam let me drink one of his Zombie Dust, and it was a pretty amazing APA. Definitely best I have had. Goes great with red meat.

Pliny the Elder...Zombie Dust...I would love to try either one of those.  Will have to look for the Pliny next time I'm in Philly (which was supposed to be tonight).

I'm enjoying a Lagunitas Sucks right now in honor of this thread.

Has anyone tried the Ballast Point Sculpin IPA yet?  It's a little steep at $13.99 a sixer but it is a damn good IPA.  I just showed up to GA last month so check it out if you haven't.  They also make a nice vanilla coffee porter called Victory at Sea.

There is a cool bar in Philly called "Strange Love" (yep, named after the song) that had Pliny on tap during the national homebrew convention.  The owner is an avid beer guy, as are the bar staff.  The place is within walking distance of the indoor market/bazaar (name escapes me, but it is adjacent to the Marriott).

I had Nefarious at Monk's Cafe...worth a visit, especially if you like Belgian style beers.

I did the tourist thing and had a few beers at the City Tavern, where they serve 'traditional beers from the time of the revolution' and actors looking like founding fathers will come to your table and not break character (they speak in first person, even if you ask, "how many women did Benjamin screw in his life?").  (Our table had Benjamin Franklin.)

Dude!  Thanks for the tip on Strangelove's.  I've been to Philly many times but have not been there.  Will check it out later this month.  I just checked out their draft list and it looks sexy.

Since my flight was cancelled back to the ATl today, I found myself some good beer.  First I enjoyed the Bell's Hopslam which is a nice double IPA, then I had some filler beers and finished with a Dogfish Head World Wide stout which was nice and at 18%abv was freaking strong.  Now I'm back at my hotel and I have a nice chocolate peanut butter porter to finish of the night with.  Cheers!
