PSA: Speedtrapped in Braselton, Explained with MS PAINT :)
« on: February 18, 2014, 08:36:16 PM »
This was a pretty darn clever maneuver used by a motorcycle officer that got me.  With that said I'm not even mad, the officer was great, he spent more time asking me about my new truck and offering best ways to reduce the ticket, and was basically a good guy.  But he was a sneaky feller who knew exactly what he was doing and as I replayed it through my head and on the map I bet a bunch of folks got snagged here.

If you can decipher my MS Paint + Google map explanation (and if you know the Braselton area)

FYI My wife saw 3 people caught in speedtrap down the new Thompson mill road in a single day while running errands.  They really want to catch ya in the 35mph spots it seems.

If anything, watch yourself in the 35mph spots in Braselton!  You've been warned =)

Bummer man.  Seems now you need to change your screen name from Slowbox to something faster...

I only mapped it out because in my 25 years of driving I've never gotten a speeding ticket.  I'm always that guy who says "be sure to slow down through the small towns" while traveling up and down the coast.  But damn, busted in my own backyard. =)

Lol right in front of my neighborhood. I drive this road everyday, obviously, and have never seen a speed trap or radar being ran there. Hope they don't start that crap, cause I do 65 on that road! I did get a ticket downtown in front of the school.

You win big brother.  I got clean busted and accept it.  A road I've driven a hundred times, but in a 20 year older truck.  Now, new stuff drives, and brakes, and controls so smooth its hard to notice the quick turn to a 10mph drop that get you a ticket.  Speedtrap, I fell for it.

Yep this is your road if you hang a right... I like to take it when I want to skip the drive to 85 heading north to hoschton.  One of these days when my wife allows we should grab a burger at Jefferies.  (its good now, used to suck)

hehe.  Good one.   //BEER//

^Did someone say beer?

It's been a while since I got a speeding ticket.  The last one was also in a 35mph zone and I got caught by a cop on a bicycle...
