16' Trailer Project - $200 obo
« on: February 24, 2014, 04:13:39 PM »
This started life as 24' RV frame. This has RV axles, not mobile home axles. They are rebuildable and need to be rebuilt and gone through. I bought with hopes of building a deck over, no time or room to keep it at my house. I have shortened it, moved braces forward, also added outriggers, and moved the axles forward. Make me an offer.

Matt, will it fit a TJ width wise on the frame or slightly at edge? Interested in this for me.
I've grown tired of this.

Are the axles at the back? XJ's are so nose heavy it would give an insane nose weight... Brakes on RV axles? Also interested

Brakes on RV axles?

If that is a general question, yes, they do exist.  My travel trailer has electronically controlled brakes on at least one axle.

I can't tell from the pictures on my phone. That one looks like it was taken with a potato.

I did take that one with a potato phone. The axles I moved forward after chopping the ass off. Stopped by for a fresh picture of how it was left. This would easily fit a jeep. Been years since messing with it and I don't remember all the details on the axles but will take a look at them again this week.

I know they are the old 4x9.44 Dexstar axles, just dont remember the exact rating. They are at the very least 3500lb each, and could possibly be 5200lb base on the hubs & brakes that were available for those axles.

You can get parts here. The one axles with wheels rolls good. The back axle needs some work, one of the brakes is seized, but I would go through all hubs & brakes before loading it down.

This trailer is close to being done. Needs a deck, axles rebuilt, fresh tires.
