Have to be be careful doing that. Snatches, clings, dead lifts have a certain form and so many people get in wrong. Its easy to hurt your self.
Kipping, can't stand those. That's the correct way to do an incorrect pull up and not to mention the hell you are giving you joints. Pull ups are bad enough but adding force like that is terrible. Doing normal pull ups will take time to get there but possible. Once a week ill do 10 set of 10 pull ups. Later in the week ill do 50 more.

Ya I am pretty cautious and I work on my form alot, deadlift, squat, push press are first. Then you learn cleans, then you start doing the snatch. We have a great trainer and work in a small class setting. You raise a good point. Its like GATR, you would never do these things unless you had a spotter and someone encouraging you to try something new and harder to expand your capabilities, while still giving you a graduated path of advancement.
The kipping pullups, thats debatable, there is alot of discussion on all that. Its really a different exercise related to a gymnastics muscle up than a strict pullup.
