F-250 at Beasley
« on: June 26, 2014, 07:15:47 PM »
I am organizing a camping trip to Beasley next month and one of my friends has a 2006 F-250 crew cab short bed on 37's. Will it fit?? I don't want to tell him to come on out and then he not be able to trail ride. I can't remember some of Beasley so I need some opinions.

Getting to the trails might be a issue, but once there he should be okay.

I did this a few months ago with GATR in a Titan Crew Cab short bed on 32s. I can almost guarantee some scratches as some of the trails get very narrow. On a couple of the turns, and I had to maneuver several times to make the turn. There was one spot I had to go through a tree and a boulder while off camber, it took several minutes to go through. Just as I was about to clear it, my rear end slid towards the tree and smacked it. I dented the quarter panel and broke my tail light.

I also bent my Nerf step bars pretty badly, and the plate that holds my towing electrical connection. Since he's on 37s, he shouldn't have that problem.

We were also told to stay off of 93B, as this is more for modified rigs.

Here is an hour long video I took from the trip:

There was a similar truck what was with us and he had to be pulled several times. Did you ever get new tires? I would not go again unless I was with a rig I knew could make it up all of the steep inclines, and could pull me up if needed. I had to get pulled  up twice.

Haven't hot the tires yet, had to fix the boat first.  I agree with having someone else that can pull me up .  Drives me crazy driving past the " Beasley Knob" sign twice everyday!  I saw that they are closing in August to do some work to the trails.

Oh wow, I just looked up the status on Beasly on the Forest Service site.

Due to wet conditions, the Beasley Knob OHV Trail System is temporarily closed in the interest of resource protection and public safety.

Beginning August 1, 2014, the Beasley Knob OHV Trail System will be closed for trail construction and maintenance. The Beasley Knob Trail System will be closed through the end of 2014 and into the normal closure period of January 1, 2015 until March 15, 2015. We apologize for the inconvenience as we work to make this trail system more sustainable and more enjoyable for the public. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Valencia Morris at (706) 745-6928.

I hope to make it. Having 2 toddlers, and my wife and I both travel for work. So that makes it hard to plan in advanced.
