August 14 - 17: CORE Harlan Ride * DISCUSSION THREAD

Ya, i have to miss this one, not happy as its always a fun trip.   stay safe guys, take lots of pic's.

I know this is supposed to be a discussion on Harlan but the fire extinguisher I have mounted on my roll bar is staying there because most of the videos you see out there where one is needed it not the driver using it its the people coming to help god forbid your on fire but are you gonna reach into a fire to grab someones fire extinguisher because its bolted to their floor where they can reach it. not trying to get into a pissing contest just trying to use common sense I may add a second one but mine is where it is for someone to grab in a hurry to get to someone else fast and not have to open a door to get it. ok off my soap box.  //;D//

A second one is a Great Idea.  I may look into that as mine is also attached toward the back on the roll bar.

I will miss this ride as I will be in Vermont the week before on the overland challenge and can't burn any more time off in August. Damn work gets in the way of all the fun. I can't wait to see the pictures and hear the stories. Stay safe.

Keep us updated on your status, after you told me about it, sounds really fun and you should enjoy the challenge.

Holy crap I may actually be able to make this ride.  Works been boomin and its time to play on the rocks.  I get my rig back today and might head to Adventure this weekend or next for a little shakedown.  Will post in another thread if I do decide to go there. 

I was sad I missed this last year and of course every ride this year so far.  Really hoping to be able to make it for sure. Its a 75% chance Ill make it this year so far but that could change really quick.

I will miss this years Harlan trip.....I try to go
every other year and I went last year so......
I highly recommend that everyone should go there
at least once. You just have to experience it to
understand.  The way the whole area welcomes the
off road community. They are proud that you can
drive any rig on the road to get to the park. Mike at
the cabins with the local beverage and the stories....
Oh and by the way that is some long ass hills on the
way there also.....

Forget about cell phone service also except on the
very top of the Mtn if the planets are aligned. LOL
