Jeep prices? $86k for JK Rubi?
« on: September 07, 2014, 08:21:54 AM »
I am not a Jeep owner but I did own one once and it was awesome offroad. I sold that Jeep in 2001 prior to my first deployment. Since being a Jeep owner I've owned a few 4wd's such as a Ford Ranger with ARB's f/r (which was an extremely capable 4wd), FJ80 Land Cruiser that was another very capable rig, and my 4Runner (there's a couple others that I left). During this time I have wheeled from an off-road lovers paradise in the Az/Cali desert to the flat state of FL that actual does ROCK's if you know where to look. With a varying group of people/4wd brands Jeepers, Toyota nuts, and big money custom built crawlers. Although I feel I am loyal to my brand (Toyota) and I am not the type of person that feels there isn't anything better on the trail then what I drive/wheel. I have wanted a Jeep Rubi since they first came out but being a family man I needed more room and the short cramped Jeep wasn't for me(us). When Jeep released the new JK unlimited they had my attention but I had already built my 4Runner into the perfect family wheeler/crawler. Now whenever I see a nicely built and sometimes stock JK Rubi/unlimited my eyes wonder. Well the point of this post is to vent over the current prices on the new JK unlimited Rubi's, yesterday I passed the Jeep dealer in Newnan and a new Rubi caught our eye. We didn't stop because I know we're not going to buy one, so I just looking them online with the shock of seeing this 2014 unlimited Rubi that was dealer prepped for the mind blowing price of $86K. Is this what they are going to for normally? They did have stock unlimited rubi's ranging from $41k to $52k but it considerably higher compared to the brand new 2007 unlimited Rubi I test drove in 07. I know the market goes up over the years but I just can't see someone paying $86k for Jeep from the dealer. Maybe if it was an AEV with Hemi, like the Brute Unlimited.

Don't buy one already built. Look for a stock new or used Jeep stock and build it slowly your self the way you want it. There is a real nice 4 door red rubi for sale by a member on here.

The dealer "add ons" are absolutely ridiculously priced. The one you saw probably had a bunch of bolt on crap that they charge an arm and a leg for. Total rip off

Not looking to buy one, just like looking. I would never buy a vehicle with those kind of dealer add on's. I did looking the Jeep for sale here, reminds me of my neighbor's JK unlimited but his has never seen dirt.

I've seen,  and posted about, that one in Newman.  Good shocks, nice tires,   nice wheels, nice light setup, nice winch, and way too much money put in the wrong places.

I heard at jeep fest there was one for over $120k...I never got to see it.

That same Rubi got stuck on some cinderblock traffic dividers at the go topless event in Newnan and was "recovered" by a RZR.

It's not a matter of how built the rig, it's the driver behind the wheel.

Speaking of Newnan, I saw Unlimited Rubicon at Kroger Sat in Newnan with a GA Trailer Riders decal. How of you guys are in the Newnan area?
