Expedition trailer sleeping platform question
« on: October 27, 2014, 04:29:23 PM »
I have a trailer that I have restored/built into a sort of expedition trailer and I am trying to figure out how I want to put a sleeping platform on it. I want something that doubles as a top for the trailer and doesn't get in the way of cargo space. I would like to have the entire trailer covered when fully opened so somewhat compact is best. I have thought about a full top that hinges over to one side for a sleeping area and have also thought about a top for the trailer that merely hinges up to allow access to cargo space then lays flat for a sleeping area. I was just seeking advice from anyone who has maybe built something similar before or anyone creative enough to throw out some ideas //;D//  The trailer is 4x6 feet and is a full box trailer

I'm going to build an offroad camping trailer.  I'll be using one of these tents.  Getting off of the ground and away from the bugs and water if it rains.

As much as I would love to have one I cannot afford one at this time. I was possibly thinking a modified popup canopy for a roof???  I just need to figure out how I will make the platform to sleep on
