As the chairman for Drinking for Reid, I was thinking about setting up a ring toss for wine or beer.  ie. $5 gets three tosses. If you ring a bottle, you keep it.  Anyone have connections on getting booze donated?

Conceptually I like the idea and will play; however, practically it could become a problem at the crawling for reid event, if that is where you planned to do it, for a few reasons:
1) transport of alcohol across state lines.  This may not be an issue...who knows?
2) how many cases were you thinking would be "won"?  A lot of winners makes transport a pain due to the quantity needed.
3)  if this isn't an official charitable organization, I doubt the alcohol companies will donate.  I know when my beer club tries to get stuff donated, those companies are strict about our organization's status with the IRS.

Think about the details and let me know.  If it seems like a go, I'll contact a couple of people I know at some local breweries to see if they can help.

I'm not really sure.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, since I don't really know the logistics.  Originally this idea was given to me as a wine toss. I figured it would be a lot easier to transfer some case of wine. I thought it would be easy to basically just get a certain amount and play till its gone

I agree on the wine being easier...plus I want to see some bubba on the trail with a nice Chardonnay!

I know one person in the wine industry...I'll hit him up.

I'm sorry but I don't think thats a good idea.
This will be the Off Road World's time to
shine and project the true spirit and commitment
that we have for each other and our community.

Those activities are great around the campsite and
I love joining in....but not sure this would be the
right time or place......just my 2 cents worth.

This has national attention, and I would agree. Another day and time would be fine and fun. If this turns into a yearly event, then anything that went wrong from this would keep a lot of vendors away.
