You have to be careful. Alot of the lower price AR'S are missing things like forward assist, dust cover doors. And alot aren't Key forged uppers. Key forged components or billet are the only way to go.

A very handy female carry gun in the S&W bodyguard 380 with laser, check it out Danny.  Very affordable, has a firing pin block if dropped.

I got my wife a s&w .38 revolver. It's hammer-less, so nothing to get hung up on if it's in her purse. Easy to shoot, no slides or anything to worry about other than point and shoot. My concern was her pulling the slide back and the potential stovepiping of the spent rounds. Gun has the option to come with crimson trace grip.

Best of all, she's comfortable handling it

My thoughts exactly.  Sending my wife to Sharp Shooters for a class.  She'll end up with a Smith 642/442 or a Ruger LCR.

We looked at a few options from Smith & Wesson. She likes the body guard. I think the best gun for her would be a 380. She really likes the P238 from Sig Sauer too.

Yes from all I've read the p238 is a better shooting weapon.   Small 380s get annoying to fire at the range as they snap into your hand pretty bad much more than a full frame 9mm or whatever.  Somehow people like shooting the p238.  From time to time they have them at rock bottom prices at Academy (plain finish) I almost bought it on impulse but then, the Jeep addiction was there and there is so much to buy for the JKU so I held off.

I bought my wife the ruger src9. She doesn't carry it, but enjoys shooting it. We don't get out enough to shoot at all though

I like the SR9c personally. I considered getting one for me to carry. May be a bit heavy for her though.

P238 = 15.20 oz
SR9c = 23.40 oz

Going to look at a few tomorrow, then I'll need to get it painted. Is there a place locally that I can get DuraBake Enamel & is it worth a crap?

I'm thinking of this one for my wife so I can stay with 2 calibers (9mm and 45)
