New vks shorty bumper is pretty bad ass and my favorite option so far. He is also doing a prerunner rear that should be ready next week. I'll finally be ready to pull the trigger once I see it.

This one is 28lbs, steel

Any plans for a spare tire?

I'm enjoying no spare and was considering not running one, but the wifey doesn't like the look as much. The plan will be to add a tailgate carrier from Teraflex of Crawler Conceptz or convince her that it looks good without it.

Yeah, I'll definitely keep a spare, but would be fine running it in the back. Also, I could still run our aluminum cargo tray when I need to carry more.

I didn't know this.
Also cutting into the rear crossmember limits my rear suspension upgrade choices.

Have you tried putting the 37 in the rear with 36 children?

I know i need my 2/3 seat down. I meant that I'll only put it in the back for wheeling trips. If I'm traveling out of town with the kids, we take her pilot.

The 37 requires the regular rear seat to be flat?  I've never tried but almost did on this last trip to Moab.

yes

So we ned to build a JK tire holder that clamps to the cage, rests on the floor, allows the rear seat to be up, and carries the spare inside at a 60 degree or so angle...

I've been looking at a few ideas for this. I'll see if I can find some old pics. I've got a useless bracket from the third row seat, so I thought about trying to integrate an angled carrier. If you take out the storage cover, the bottom of the tire and sit in there to help with view.
