Will you still use the 4L60 behind the 6.0? Isn't that the main drawback to a half ton chevy tow rig?
Thanks guys. This is a 11 year old vehicle that will probably end up at a University in the next couple of years, and it's not a race car, so I should be good with a 5.3/4L60E. Still exploring the 6.0 though.

I'm not saying anything about racing, but the fact it will handle towing and engine power a lot better. A stock 6.0 with a tune and very mild cam could easily put down 400hp. Not sure on fitment but I would always prefer a bigger trans instead of working a smaller trans harder if it fits.

I had a 2002 with a 6.0, 4l80 combo. I think a crossmember and a driveshaft would be all ya need, the lenth is the only size difference right Tripp? Not to beat a dead horse here..
