True. I remember on one of my work trips, I asked some locals if they had any suggestions for good local food. No bs, I got; Applebee's, outback, Cheesecake Factory...

yikes.  I avoid chain restaurants like the plague unless it's the only viable thing within driving distance (which has happened - most Power Plants are not put in residential areas)

Yeah, same here on avoiding. I specifically asked if they knew about any local restaurants that weren't a chain.

Serious about the beer stuff?  If so, the BJCP (beer judge certification program) would love to have you as a beer judge.  Some perks with that association and activity.  I can direct you to contributing.

Yes, I'll tell you about it after one of your fitness training sessions. :)

I can, however, consume beer and tell people whether or not I like it. Haha.

Yeah I travel for work and have a ton of apps but I'd rather hear from folks who have been there or are from the region. Figured this isn't the first Moab trip the group has done but I guess no one makes the trip a vacation as well and is just driving to get to the destination.

We don't usually stop for more than fuel and a beverage or subway and we're rolling again.  Want to maximize time on red rock and chill in Moab

I really enjoy hanging in Moab.  Great place to be.

There is some great food in Moab.
Moab brewery
Moab diner
Pasta Jays
Jailhouse
Theres a burger place...

Don't go to mcstiffs.  They are opposed to motors off road.  Or eclectic cafe.  There is a list somewhere.

Tuesday is cheap wings at the brewery.

I don't know how long I can go without some pasta jays after we get there lol..

I just haul butt to Moab and eat at all the good places in Moab. My girlfriend better be glad that I don't have a transfer tank in the back of the duramax or we would only stop once on the way to Moab.
I always eat a new place everyday when on a vacation. I have been adding some new must go to go places since this thread got started.
