No but I meant with the sheer numbers throwed at it
combined with no Charlie's Creek to play on......make's
me worry about it. I hope I'm wrong and that they have
turned over a new leaf.

Damn! I'm off the scene for a few months and come back to this crap!!!

CC was one of my wife and my favorite local getaways.  Well if anyone is willing, I would go up there when the "FB" ride is scheduled and block the road. Sure that's not legal, but a statement needs to be made.

I live up here, right in between Charlie's creek, Bell mountain and Trey mountain, just aggravating!  Still a nice ride, but so is the interstate

I heard through the grapevine that at the last Helen Jeepfest (this past spring) there was a heavy presence of Forest Rangers present on Trey to keep em out of the mud holes. I suspect there are many FS roads that could use some resurfacing. And if you watch the FBgroups they will give em all the attention needed to quicken the tractors. Just likes good fishin spot if you know a  place where nobody goes, that is legal.  It's probably not a good idea to share it, much less on Facebook. I'd rather ride the parks. And use the FS roads for hiking and camping.

went for a little ride today because we thought it was gonna storm this afternoon and my wife has something against paddlin down a river with lightning   //LMAO//  Anyways.. we went through charlie creek on our way to Clayton and honestly i think they did more damage with the grading than good. There are still a couple campsites that are open, but where they graded they left it dirt which has since turned to mud with the traffic. It wont be long and it will be back to ruts and flexxin id say. the thing that really got off with me is they didnt do anything about the mudholes, didnt even ditch em out or nothing to make effort to dry out the road bed. So really the road will end up in worse shape, and above that the traffic through there is crazy now, I met 15-18 rigs from one end to the other, i lost count through the cussin about it. We wanted to fish on the Persimmon side but nothing was biting, so we took a left just to see where the pavement ended and low and behold it was another FS road, #32 i believe it was called Patterson Gap. It was a pretty nice little ride with a couple more campsites that ended up over by Black Mtn state park, which we had never been to so we went, nice views, but other than that not worth the $5 to park. Now im just rambling, time for bed..  //btt//

FS 163 is near by and it's a fun relaxing ride and I never see rigs on it.

Jeeptrk, I agree, I think they did more damage than good.  We will see.

I take 163 on the way to Charlie's creek.  Coleman River road runs into a FS road, nice drive ( 1/2 mike past the road to turn to Charles creek off of persiminion, go straight and you will run into FS 32, Patterson gap. Sometime gates are unlocked to 32c ( actually unlocked, not broken chain)
