Pretty sure any Express will shoot 3" shells.  Is it a Super Magnum if so than 3.5".

Magnum or not unless it's really old any 870 can shoot 3" shells.  It's dependent on the barrel and should be marked as such on the barrel.  The Super Magnum shoots 3.5", no thanks :).

At any rate sounds like a great deal to me.  I already have two or I'd be all over it.
