CMAs
« on: November 05, 2015, 03:18:01 PM »
So I was flipping through the channels last night and the CMAs were on.  Most of the new country is not country but I left it on as there nothing else and it was background noise while I was working.  Then I hear them say that Justin Timberlake would be performing and that was shocking to say the least.  He performed with some dude name Chris Stapleton whom I've never even heard of.  I must say I quite enjoyed the performance.  Chris Stapleton has a soulful, bluesy, rock country sound and it's what country should sound like and was a refreshing change from the current pop (boy band) country trend.  Anybody heard of this dude before?  Anybody care?

Don't know that dude, but just added a few new songs from some of the new-ish country singers.  I just can't get into the songs/singers who talk through their songs, but I'm down with some country rap jammed in between some lyrics about mama, or trains, or trucks, or prison, or getting drunk.

New ones I like:
Kelsea Ballerini
Little Big Town
Chris Young
Luke Bryan
Jason Aldean

I like all those.  Even though the newer stuff is pop-ish...I do still sing in the shower to some of it.

That Timberlake Stapleton song was freaking awesome. By far the best performance of the night.

Stapleton won everything last night! Didn't know his name until last night though.

And this sh*t is hilarious. Especially the one about Sam Hunt

Didn't think you listened to country.  Guess you just keep the 90s rap cd in the jeep :)

I do have some Kicking Up Mud in the jeep...just a few songs in that category.

I started listening to country more when I traveling with the children, most of it is a little safer. And I don't have kids trying to teach me how to whip and nay nay.
