Jay you better stand up for the NWJM club. I really thought you would not fold under pressure so easy.

Went to a, new to me, bbq joint yesterday for lunch. Smokebelly on E. Andrews Drive in Shmuckhead.  It was an impromptu WJM meeting that Jay and the Don attended.  Since Jay is not a true WJM member he was allowed to listen to the discussion but was not allowed to speak.

Damn good food, and a variety of items on the menu.

They start you off with Fried Pork Rinds.  I have never been a fan but these were fairly light, not greasy and pretty tasty.  We also had the Bacon Deviled Eggs appetizer, got 4 of them.  Very tasty.  Had something crunchy in like celery that I liked.

I had the 50/50 burger, ground bacon and ground brisket with a spicy cheese and fried onions.  Very good but real rich.  It was not a huge burger and didn't need to be. Got the baked mac and cheese on the side and it was steller.

Looking forward to going back to this one.
WJM member or not, Jay should never be allowed to speak.  Good move.

Damn...my mouth is watering...I love deviled eggs!

I'll give you some local favorites in Roswell

Oak Street Cafe http://www.oakstcafe.com/ - they have a spectacular weekend brunch.  My wife and I also go there about once a month for dinner.  I didn't like the way they switched the dinner menu to mainly sandwiches but they've gone back to a traditional menu now.

Roswell Tap - this is my local watering hole and Steelers bar.  They have really good food for the type of place that it is and their smoked wings are GREAT. Since ownership switched, the drink prices are getting too expensive though.

Roux - Gumbo is excellent and spicey.  Never had a bad meal there.

Cue BBQ in Alpharetta - the guy (Paul Doster) that started Que was part owner and operating manager of Swallow at the Hollow.  He and the (liberal cretan) owner of Greenwoods (Bill Greenwood) had a falling out so he started his own place.  SATH has gone down hill ever since.  Que is like the original SATH but with an expanded menu.  Great bbq and ribs.

I went to Stoney River for lunch Wednesday (vendor) and had a Steak House Salad.  It has candied bacon and also comes with deviled eggs that have the candied bacon mixed in.  I don't eat egg whites (YUK) but the yoke was delicious.

I'll make some for a future trip that would make your grandma ask for the recipe!  Well, I might think they're great, while others hate them.

Deviled Eggs:

J Alexander's are decent...they are topped with bacon pieces.

Store bought just plain suck.

I am too picky with deviled eggs. I hate mustard, so I like my own. Mayo, garlic salt, little paprika on top.

Yep, way to picky...mustard is a key component of any deviled egg.  You must be eating angeled egg.
