Have a vendor sponsored dinner at C. Ellet's tomorrow.  Going to see if it's all it's cracked up to be.  It's right under our building at the Battery.

Heard good things about that place.  Post up your thoughts after your dinner.

Had a day trip to Austin, TX yesterday to meet with a potential partner and had lunch at a place called Freedmens.  The brisket was awesome.  They also have an impressive bourbon collection (but alas it was a business lunch so no go).  The locals I went with claim that Freedmens is as good as Franklin BBq (I haven't been so I can't compare).

There is a new City BBQ that opened in Johns Creek and I’ve been twice so far.

I’ve had their pulled pork, brisket and smoked turkey and I’ve tried their collards, potato salad and baked beans.

IMO, the best I have had in this area (better than Cue and Smokejack which have been my go to).

In particular, their brisket is outstanding.

Highly recommend checking them out.

It may be worth a lunch meet up at some point.

Nice review John. I’d like to check it out. Also, a friend of mine just opened king bbq in Avalon. It’s on the short list to check out.

Went to Brine at Avalon in Alpharetta today.  Very good. No pictures. Sorry.

Killer Bloody Mary
Fresh Apalachicola oysters
Very nice, lightly fried clams on a clam roll.

Sooo good. I will go back.
Yes! Love this place. Best oysters that I have found out here. Great shrimp ceviche, and a killer margarita. I need to get back out there.

Completely don't want anything to do with anything Avalon. What's a cluster fawk of logistics. Wouldn't go there for free booze or the best food on Earth. YMMV

It is crazy busy and parking can be a challenge, but you’re missing out on some good food.  Rumi’s kitchen is fantasric there.  Plus, there can be some good people watching.

I actually really enjoy the Avalon. Like jd30005 said, parking CAN be tough depending on the time of day you go, but there are some amazing grub spots there and some good watering holes. If you like beer there is a really good burger and brew place there, but the name slips my mind. Its right down from Brine. Rumi's kitchen is awesome too as well as Kona grill.

Cru wine bar is pretty stellar also.

If ya'll are rolling through Downtown Chattanooga and want a really good burger, try out Urban Stack.

Hard to beat.
