You want one that will shoot 5.56 and .223.

Are you sure you want one with a carry handle verse a flat top?

that sounds good, i did not know i could get flip up sights.  sounds cleaner.    i will look at a scope later..  need to do some more
research on that part..   also, anyway to get it in a larger caliber ?   wondering if the .223 will bring down a deer?

Yes.223 will drop a deer. You can get an AR in .308. Ammo cost a lot more

Spoke to my brother about ARs (He has a really nice M4) and is more knowledgeable than me. He mentioned the need for some specialty tools required for building. Are these tools required if say I purchased a complete lower and complete upper?

What I've determined I'd like so far:
16" barrel, 1:7
5.56/.223 (compared to .223 only, if I understand correctly)
Flat top
Provisions for scope/sight on top in addition to flip up sights
mount for laser with remote button (wife's request, I'm assuming below barrel is ideal?)
All black
~$800

Suggestions on specific parts or entire rifles that meet the parameters, or comments on what I'm after are appreciated  //SLAMIN//
