First link from Google.  Not a JkU but close to the same weight.
Think you forgot to hit paste?

Lol -  I kept reading about how hi9s wouldn't hold up to JKU weight and too many broken pinions on pirate.
Were these web wheelers, or actual stories?

There is a white paper on the internet that discusses why 9s are good for go fast cars, but not good for off-road vehicles.  I'll dig for it since I mentioned it.

- Torg

I dont understand that. How would it be ok for go fast but not for wheeling? The amount of stress seen in a go fast events can be equivalent to years of wheeling.

Ya...I figured you would want more info...and I have searched and searched to find it and I am coming up empty.  I recall it being in depth, but all I keep finding are anecdotal discussion. The closest one I can find, that is in the general rationale of the paper I read is here:  http://www.savagesun4x4.com/enter/tech-specs-discussions-down/viewpoints-technical_discus/dana60_vs_ford_9_jeep_tj.html

He admits the 9 is stronger and retarded points.

A lot of those issues where fixed with load bolts. Look up alltech motorsports load bolt fix and they also you a bronze spacer in there. The 9/10 in design is superior.

What's the tooth contact? Is it normal 2 teeth? What's the weight of the drop out vs 9/10?

And back on topic - any thoughts on Metal Masher?  Don't think we did that one last year.

Yeah, I've run it a few times, it's a fun trail, a few nice obstacles, not Pritchett's but none of them are.  Don't forget BFE!
