Mathews LX compound bow
« on: February 11, 2016, 01:11:56 PM »
Wanting to sell my bow and buy and give a crossbow a try. This is one of the smoothest bows you will ever draw. I have it set up for 20-30 yds on the pins. Here are the specs...

http://totalcompoundbows.com/mathews-lx-compound-bow/

1. 60LB draw limbs currently on. I also have 45lb limbs to go with it.
2. Draw length is somewhere around 28-30" but not exactly sure. This can be adjusted by swapping cams.
3. Spot Hogg fiber pin sight. Has 3 adjustable pins but I only use two.
4. Full length stabilizer.
5. Trophy Ridge fall away arrow rest.
6. Detachable Tru Glo quiver. Holds 4 arrows.
7. Peep sight on string.
8. D loop for knocking release.
8. String suppressor to quiet the string on release (can't recall brand off hand).

Extras included are -
1. Tru-Fire release.
2. A few broadheads, mechanical and fixed.
3. 11 carbon fibre arrows. Beman and XTH Hunters.
4. 45LB limbs.

Just the extras alone are worth quite a bit. Do the research and see the parts list and costs for each. This bow is ready to hunt as is and needs nothing. Very consistent 30 yd groups in the hands of a good shooter. This bow is well known in the hunting community and has always been a favorite among hunters. It is a very smooth draw and smooth release. It does have some wear around the front of the grip on the bow from years of use. Just paint that can be fixed. String should be good for another 2 years or so and has been waxed religiously.

Asking $400 firm. I have alot tied up in this and like I said, it is ready to hunt. I will entertain offers for guns and crossbows of similar value. Ammo is also accepted as possible trade. .223/.556/.45/.380

Any questions let me know.

Don, I would love a new bow but they are getting way too pricey. Like the no cam... geesh! This is definitely priced to sell especially with the extras.

I've been wanting to get back in to archery for a while now. I used to shoot competitively in the late 90's. The bow technology has come so far since then it's not even funny.

Would you say this bow with the 45# limbs could be a decent indoor competition bow?
I know it's probably better suited for the 3D arena and hunting but I can't afford two bows and this sounds like a good possibility with the multiple rate limbs.

I bought it from a very knowledgeable bow hunter who actually has his own small pro shop in the family feed a seed store in Jefferson. The bow belonged to an older gentlemen who could no longer pull the weight so he dropped to the 45# limbs and was hunting with it till he decided to hang it up. I would say it would be fine for what you are looking for. Just keep in mind the draw length might need to be changed which you will then have pins set at the wrong distance. When I had the cam changed and limbs swapped the pins were way off but within a few arrows I had it dialed in. Both mechanical and fixed broadheads fly perfectly straight and no plaining of any sort. I did the paper test at 30yds and if was perfect. I have shot quite a few bows and this is the smoothest bow I have ever shot. I could shoot quite a bit before my arms tired. Let me know if you have any other questions.
