Eric has a bunch of friends at the lake today and my yeti 35 is among the coolers. I tested it and there is a small drip from the very back center, similar to what Mark saw on his Pelican.

It did not leak out the sides or front.  If I had it full I'm sure it would have leaked out the back while on it's side.

I pulled my Pelican 35 out to look at it and it has the same small gap in the gasket.  Wonder if it's intentional so it's not completely air tight for some reason since John's Yeti does the same thing.  Maybe to prevent a vacuum lock on the lid or something?

Clark leave cooler discussion here as part of your build or split it out?
if you can merge it with the original cooler discussion thread (http://www.gatrailriders.com/GTRForums/index.php?topic=14943.0
My first Yeti cooler)  That would probably be best. Good info that shouldn't be trapped in a build thread.

Ok, the leak on mine was much more significant that just a little water getting through the seam where the gasket material ends meet.

This looks like a good deal

that drain spout is pretty nifty, but since ice floats, probably not a big deal since you should keep some water in there to maintain the thermal mass.  Otherwise, it doesn't appear to be better than the igloo one at Sam's.

I thought the solid handle and gasket were better

I'm not sold on the solid handle, in a vehicle where it's likely to get jostled around and could take some tough hits.  The gasket has to be better...no way it could be worse!

I want a soft bag. Takes up less spaces and can be put more places.

Just bought this cooler for the Jeep... wanted to go with Yeti, Pelican or even RTIC, but this one has great reviews and I got it for $42.50!

Its got slots for running straps through that don't interfere with the lid opening, nice gasket in the lid, stainless steel hardware to keep it closed... seems pretty good.
