Cooler for your Crawler
« on: April 02, 2016, 05:32:05 PM »
I bought a new beverage cooler for the jeep today.  I went with the igloo Yukon 20.  It's a bit smaller than the Pelican 35 and has many of the great features I wanted.  I'm hoping I can carry my co2 setup on the trail now...I'll know soon.  It was $100 at Sam's Club.

I also ordered a Bestop safari/bikini top so I can have some cover without fretting about damaging my real top.

My pelican in the jeep is a 20. Perfect size. Main reason i got is i can tie it down and dtill open it. It was almost twice that cost. If the igloo can do that then awesome.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

Same one, in white at Sam's, but 99 bucks.  They've had them for months at that price.  You can strap it down.  I like the drain better than on my pelican. The center of the plastic handle is sticky rubber, not hard plastic.  I think it has a 5 year warranty, versus lifetime with pelican.

Does the cooler have a metal handle or a plastic one? The one I found at sam's had a plastic handle and no mention of a warranty. Just wonder if that's where the money difference is. I think I would rather have a metal handle but not for an extra $100.

Correction:  maybe the one I got isn't the same as the Amazon one.  I'll take pictures of it today and post them up.  Sorry..I made an assumption.

I'm going to test the two leak complaints:  drain plug, and tip over.  On my to-do list for to-day

The difference is one is sportsman and one is a Yukon same cooler in appearance but I think the handle is what makes it different they are 219 at lowes
