All is well. I got a replacement at Advance and got it installed. Discovered one of the wires from the relay to my electric fan had broken at the connector. So it is likely that is what caused the radiator to overheat (although it all happened so quickly that I got no warning lights or temp gauge reading). We wheeled for 3-4 hours this afternoon and had a blast.  I will be upgrading that piece of shit plastic radiator with aluminum along with an aluminum overflow.  I hear griffin is good but need to do some research.
Ok, I wondered what was the root cause.  I've seen another TJ blow the radiator, but he was running red for a while.  Incredible power when it goes.  Did you get any hood damage?

I would replace that cap.  It should have blown first.

He replaced it.

It was amazing how fast everything blew out

Actually I think the poison spider hood louver helped me because everything exploded up and out and blew through the louvers and all over the windshield. It was crazy.

All fixed now and had a great afternoon on the trails.

What genius engineer thought it was a good idea to make a plastic radiator?

The bean counters. Plastic is cheaper than any metal. Plus it's guaranteed to fail as it gets brittle with age. They're hoping you come back to them & get a replacement.

Park was in Awesome condition this morning. It rained just enough last night to knock all the dust down.

My group at 9 am was advance trail. Only had two trail fest people and everybody else was GATR. It was pretty cool. We ran GWT then 56 and finished with 41.

Morning run was awesome.

Tony and I had one of the afternoon groups with way too many rigs. We made the most of it.

It was nice having Mark A riding shotgun so we could pass the time talking.
