It had a very strong rum smell and a light rum flavor. It is also brewed w some toasted coconut and that flavor was definitely there too.
It was good, but not beer you would drink all night.

Trying a Russian Imperial Stout. Boris the Spider. Pretty tasty.

I want to like stouts, I just can't. There something about really dark beers that grosses me out (usually the coffee smell)

Patman, I had the same reaction forever. But in the past year I have really started to enjoy them more than any other beer. No clue why it changed for me.
This isn't tonight, but this is crazy good stuff. It's like $15 for a 22oz bottle.

Just so you aren't surprised, a Russian Imperial Stout is a totally different breed of stout...it's very alcoholic, heavy smell of alcohol and light on the tongue (alcohol evaporating). Generally not for the average beer drinker. Usually very low, to no, carbonation.
A good one is hard to create due to the very high alcohol and trying to keep the alcohol from being more prominent than the flavor of the malt.
