June Aetna ride good for beginners?
« on: May 05, 2008, 05:55:49 PM »
We just picked up a 98 TJ for my gf, and are interested in going out for a few rides. Currently we have a 2" bb, 1" body lift, 33x12.50 and a winch. We'll have all the required items as well.

Will we have any issues at Aetna? Is that a good first timer place to go? I'm assuming for Tellico, we should get some more experience and a real suspension lift?

Welcome Tom.  Aetna is about as universal as it gets and one of the best wheeling areas around for everyone stock to mod.  You will be fine.

What Chris said. Everthing at Aetna has a bipass. You'll get to have plenty of fun and won't have to seperate from the big guys so you'll get to watch them which is half the fun.

Welcome.

I still haven't wheel it myself, but I've wheeled everything else we've been on, but from what I can recall it's a good place to start.  I don't recall too many rocks up there to worry about damage on.  There are some hills, but nothing you couldn't do.

I suggest going when it's DRY! ;) It was a sloppy mess last time... but fun!
I've grown tired of this.

Excellent! We'll plan on being there then. Hopefully it stays dry, as we have Toyo AT's instead of mud tires.

Why. Of course its not like having a good set of MTs but they work. Alex has proven that to me and sam did fine as well.

Why.

Because I've never heard you say anything positive about Toyo A/Ts.

And you never will. We are talking BFG A/Ts that is a completely different tire.

I rolled on 33" BFG AT's at Tellico with ZERO issues.  As a matter of fact, an AT has much better traction on rocks.
