For the guys who drive their Jeeps to rides like this and want the doors off, do you take them off before you leave?  Or, do you do it at the park?
For those of us that trailer, you can usually just ask someone and leave your doors on their trailer.
Ask?  Lol. Its not uncommon to come off the trail and find doors, tops, windows etc... on my trailer.  One time at AOP ( I think) I found a set of front axle shafts.  :)

But yeah if you don't know them probably best to ask.

I have an extra soft top due to this...I figure if you didn't ask, neither should I.  Thanks for the top that occupies extra space in my basement.

Kidding, of course!

If you ask me, I'll likely offer you a security cable and lock.

Party at the Fairfield inn...bring your favorite bourbon!  I have stayed at the low rent motel (America's Best) on the north side of the road you use to get to MM; it's a very nice stay for cheap...no sarcasm...I'd stay there again.

I'm in! Weather permitting, of course. I will be driving up Saturday morning and heading out Sunday morning.

Since I'm dependent on weather, I'll also be camping if I go

**wrong thread, lol

Trying to make it.  I fly back from Miami late Friday night.

Just in case you guys didn't know - the Fairfield and Courtyard in Anniston/Oxford are Tier 1 Marriott properties that are 7500pts/night.  30k Marriott pts is roughly equivalent to $100.  So, if you have Marriott points, it behooves you to use the points as that equates to ~$25/night in points.  Doesn't get any cheaper.

Damn that's cheap!

With the amount of rain that we've had lately and looks like we will have in the forecast, how difficult do the experienced guys in the forum anticipate the trails to be for this ride? I only ask because I'm running a stock rig with open/open axles...

Morris does not dry out very quickly. I'm keeping a close eye on rainfall between now and the ride to determine whether I'm still going. It's primarily red clay and is slick as hell when wet.

Will my stock Jeep work with regular wheels on the class 1 trails?
Is it a stock Rubicon, or stock Sport/Sahara?  I am not sure what is a 'class 1 trail', but if that is the set of trails that get your from obstacle to obstacle, then I'm pretty sure you'll be able to do those trails.  A stock Jeep is fairly capable.  If you have a stock Rubicon, you'll be able to do much more than the trails that connect obstacles.

Class 1 trails are pretty much the access roads around the parks, so yes, you should be able to navigate those. They can be steep, rutted, and have some small rocks and ledges.
