Yep. It wasn't anything difficult, (and not legal, unkown to me & the rest, I think, at the time),  but was a good start to get me more interested into going to other places and doing more difficult stuff.

I spend $950 a year on dish
I spend $900 a year for a phone and internet
It cost me about $700 a year to keep tags and Ins on my tow pig,TJ and trailor.

$700 a year + gas, food and hanging out with a great group of folks is well worth it for me.

Ive parked my Bronco and the hauler <F250 SD> until gas/fuel prices are back to a more sane amount. I refuse to pay those greedy bastids a penny more than I absolutely HAVE to.

Southern Four Wheel Drive Association (SFWDA), the BlueRibbon Coalition (BRC) and
United Four Wheel Drive Associations (UFWDA), will file suit against the U.S. Forest
Service to restore access to improperly closed off-highway recreation trails located in the
Upper Tellico Off-highway Vehicle (OHV) Area in North Carolina.
On December 18, 2007, the agency issued a closure order which UFWDA, BRC, and
Southern contend is based on outdated and incomplete science. The law suit will seek
to declare unlawful and set aside the closure order.
“Our organizations value their relationship with the Forest Service, however
management by closure does not address the issues we need to be surmounting
through collaborative and creative efforts,” observed Jay Bird, of Southern Four Wheel
Drive Associations. “There is no defensible scientific correlation between OHV use and
water quality, erosion, and sedimentation issues in this area, and our organizations have
long demonstrated their dedication to the environment and support of trout populations
in the area through user education, route maintenance and improvement. Active and
effective management of motorized recreation, not prohibition, is the only good answer
for protecting water quality and species habitat at the Upper Tellico OHV area,” Bird
concluded.
Further information about the plaintiff organizations, including information about
developments in this action and others, can be found as indicated below.

im just sayin we could at least around here i could find the land its just my credit is not great for that type of purchase. i mean it would bring in money after about a year it would help save the sport and it would be something to where we could get off our ass and help. I mean who do you think has more of an opinion to the gov. us who are going to have to pay taxes anyway or a bussiness owner who pays them alot more. i know it will cost alot but just think of the rewards. sorry if i offend anybody but we for the most part just sit around and complain and not really do anything to prevent them from doing this to us. i just want to do something to try to make them stop

I looked in to buying land in florida...it has been done successfully a few times but I couldnt see making enough money off a park, after paying insurance, supporting my family, paying for power, construction cost, advertising, and covering the cost of a mortgage on a piece of land big enough to make it worth while....500ac x $10k per is $5mil just for the land right? My commercial mortgage on $300k of debt is about $2300 a month so you could imagine what the cost would be for $5mil....there are parks on pieces as small as 100 ac but it would have to be the absolute right terrain to make it worth while....
I hope I get to trail ride this year.

I wonder if some type of lease deal could work.  We'd still need someone with enough capital to make the land purchase, but then that person would lease out the land to enough people to cover the costs.  The lessees would then earn shares based on their contributions over time to share in the profit.  I guess it would be kind of like a co-op.

Steve at River Rock was in construction before he got into offroading. It's not too hard to get equipment when he needs it. You gotta have somebody with connections like that if you're gonna make money out of a park. You have to cut the costs of actually maintaining the place.
