aluminum center? How would that hold up with some meats? hhhmmmm???

i was pretty sure the TJ and ZJ rears were different widths and something else? im not a fan of the aluminum D44's... dont think they can hold up to the stress that there given... i believe they had a problem with some inner bearings taking a crap alot because of the flex the differential aloud... if i had one a FULL cased locker would go in it as well as a STEEL heavy duty diff cover... maybe would get it alittle stronger...
95 2 door I6, 2006 F250 axles... 5.38's and welded F&R... custom Y linked front... leafs (for now) in the rear... H1 double beadlocks and rock rings with 40's

Truss it and add a diff. skid and its a great axle. Stronger then the regular D44 and close to an 8.8.

Do they hold up after doing that? I love the disk brakes.

It is the same width as a TJ axle.

Yes, there is no full carrier locker available for it and they're not a lot of options for lunch box lockers either, but that is the biggest thing.

And yes, it does eat carrier bearings, but that is why you truss and skid it, to prevent deflection.

But there are several people on the Grand forums running this axle with 35"s and having no real problems.

Is this a good swap for a TJ or XJ? Not really, get a regular D44 or 8.8 but the Grand guys where this axle will bolt in, its a pretty good choice.

yeah, typically on craigslist if it is too good to be true, it probably is.
