Although I don't know much about them, my '97 Grand had the DANA 44 rear and I was told it wasn't as good as the Wrangler 44 ???

Aren't those Grand Cherokee D44s aluminum? From doing some research when we got Kelly's WJ, they're better than a D35/8.25 but not as good as a Wrangler D44.
