Would definitely need a big comfy captains drivers chair,
futon secured w seatbelts,
queen pillow top in the back,
rv heat/ac,
Tunes,
And tow hooks on the front so y'all can get me up to the camp sites.

Part of my rough build out for a van included 4x4 upgrade. Costly but doable.

If you just want a basic tow pig, the van is the cheapest way to get that solid motor and trans.  But the basic work vans don't have a lot of interior creature comforts.
And not to mention that the neighbors would put you on a child predator list when they saw you rolling in a white panel van.

With full size vans you have to watch out for the rear overhang and the position of the rear axle. Take a look at some and you will see that some have much more behind the axle than others. Of the top of my head, think the Ford 15pax versus the Chevy 12pax. The Chevy axle is near the rear doors. A long overhang places the hitch way back and places additional leverage, causing a more pronounced front end lifting effect due to the tongue weight.  On a truck, the difference in the long vs short bed is accounted for in front of the rear axle. Just my $.02

Dammit, Scott.  You and your facts need to stay out of this!  //LOL//

(Good point, as usual).

It's petty disgusting.

Don't worry, I'm sure all off that leverage will be solved with air bags inflated a bit...it seems to be everyone's equivalent to a weight distribution hitch, regardless of reality.
