I've only been shooting a couple years now. Went thru several handguns,
still figuring out what works best for me....The Ruger LC9s was compact
and I suffered the thumb knucle hit which I found out is common on Rugers.
The Taurus PT 809 I thought was to big and bulky to carry.
The Taurus 740 slim was a compact that seemed to small. The Taurus G2
I like and carried until I bought the Glock at a really good price. Now trying
the Walther Creed....lots of good reviews and a good price. Still just a rookie
learning.....
Thanks. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a gun purchase, and I was thinking I would go with a Glock, since they are supposedly easy to maintain, flawless functionally, and readily available. I haven't gotten to the point of understanding their numbering system, so maybe I'm not too terribly close to getting one.
I probably wouldn't carry it on my person, only in the car and at home, so from past experience I want a full grip, or the extended clip for the pinkie if I get a smaller gun.
To be honest, I'm concerned about the cost of a gun hobby, and my hot head getting me into trouble on the road if I have one. I'll take the safety course, and practice a bunch, of course. But it's a lot of responsibility, which I despise knowingly accepting!
