Seen any big catfish at the bottom of dam? I grew up on West Point Lake and the divers would tell stories of big fish.

my friend  Lance said he saw catfish the size of a VW Bug on Lanier.

I've caught strippers nearing in on deep sea fishing-sized fish (big grouper or jack fish)...it was a guided trip, no fisherman skill involved.

People die on lanier every year. Its the biggest man made lake in the US and is one of my favorite places on earth. Most people die from doing something stupid. Its like the lake is the only place the government hasn't tried to stop natural selection. With that said, I dont wear a life vest on the boat, my kids did when they were young.
Jet ski is another story. Anyone that rides without a jacket kinda deserves what they get. I wipped out on a wave raider doing like 28mph one time and it was enough to knock me out. My other skis run 60 and 70 mph. So ill always have my vest on.
I have heard all kinds of stories. Ex. A chicken truck went off the road at browns bridge. 45 min later you could see catfish coming to the surface and swallowing whole chickens. Thats my favorite story.
With some common sense, the lake is so much fun.
I love lanier, ive been playing there all my life. That lake is a part of me at this point.
