New OHV Park: Stony Lonesome OHV Park
« on: June 12, 2008, 10:31:05 AM »
It looks like Alabama is getting another OHV park.  The thing I found interesting about this story is that the land was mostly funded by a grant provided by the state of Alabama.  At the rate things are going we'll have to rename GATR to ALTR since all the trails will be in Alabama.

You beat me to it, Tony. I was just about to post this. Almost 1500 acres, awesome. Looks like we need to move to Alabama.  ;)

sounds like it could be pretty cool. Only 2 things that scare with with this wonderful tellico thing going on

"the new county-owned park. The Cullman County Commission named the park this week for the creek that flows through the land. "

The area is right around Lewis Smith Lake, about 189 miles for me. Go to B-ham, take I-65 north for 39 miles.

Everything is becoming a long drive at $4+ a gallon! :-[
I've grown tired of this.

Just looked it up, this place is farther away then Grey Rock is to give you a reference. You would actually pass Grey Rock getting there.

Even if we don't go there it's more options.  And more options is good.   ;D  Maybe Alabama is better at kicking the greenies to the curb.
