Estimate of Value?
« on: March 26, 2018, 02:13:12 PM »
So my wife and I have been kicking around the idea of selling my Jeep and getting a daily driver and building a TJ (ideally V8, tons, etc...) that I don't mind putting in to a tree or have to worry about making it to work on Monday. With a baby on the way, I won't get much time on the trails anyways over the next couple of months, so it could be a good time for Allsouth to work their magic. I'd like to get people's thoughts on what my current JK would go for. I've seen some late models go up for sale in my Facebook Jeep groups, but it's hard to tell what things actually sell for.  I bet high 40s is where I could see it selling. I don't see jeeps in the 50s unless they are on tons or have engine swaps.

JK to built TJ/LJ

the quest is easier said than done.  @jc79 has done it

I don't know what the value of your jeep would be in the market but if you really want do it.  Do it before you sink any more money into the JK

Luckily I've done about everything to this JK that I set out to do, plus a little more. Only other mod I would do if I kept it is hydro-assist

I'll be surprised if you get what you expect back out of the JK. Probably Blue Book plus 5k. Regardless of how much you have in it.
A dealer trying to sell you a 2500 truck  may offer the same, depends on how badly they want to sell the truck.

It may be better to part out the jeep and put a stock kit back on it ( fenders, bumpers, lift ).

easier said than done...because when you find out what the market values your jeep you may be disappointed.  If you can stomach the loss, its all good.

What does the market show as the value of your jeep in stock form?

KBB shows $34.5k, Edmunds $32.5k. It's almost paid off, so I figure if I got $45k or so that would buy a Leaf plus about $30k for a TJ build (we have another car for road trips)

Most of the stock mounts for the suspension were cut off for the long arm 3 link.  //:'(//

If you find the right buyer, you may get $40. Chances are the buyer will finance, and the bank won't give them more than book value.
