Back Road Driving
« on: August 26, 2018, 11:53:38 AM »
Any recommendations? I'm sure most of y'all will point north towards the mountains but, I'm looking for roads less traveled. Any roads with old barns, old buildings, old towns.

Check out Madison and the surrounding areas.  Some really cool old houses in downtown Madison.  Head out from the downtown area and there are old barns, heritage farms, etc.  look in the Davis Academy Road/Old Mill Road area.

Heritage farms as in the organic grass fed farm? Sherry has mentioned that place a few times.

I’m probably too late, but there are plenty of dirt/ back roads out in Jackson/Walton/Rockdale counties.

There's a publication  called Waterfalls and Back Roads of North Georgia
you can find in many hole int he wall country stores in North Georgia. I think I got my copy at Goats on the Roof. Some good drives and easy hiking.

I use Gaia GPS and really like it.
Most LCOG Builds are like a fat girl in Yoga Pants, just cause it fits doesn't mean it works...
