Sorry to hear that you lost your job. I hope you find something soon.

Not sure if you're open for a career change but we have a few positions open at the company I work for. We do commercial property restoration and reconstruction. We utilize Indeed for hiring and I've posted a link below. Scroll to the bottom and you can see our open positions.

https://www.indeed.com/cmp/Epic,-LLC?from=2pane&fromjk=00ab2016adacf94a&jcid=f996d40ccd0cbc51&attributionid=2pane-name

I started in our operations department in 2011 with little construction experience but willing to work hard. Started out tearing out wet drywall. The hours are crazy in our operations department since there is an on-call rotation, but there's a ton of potential for growth if you want to work hard and treat others like you want to be treated.

Not sure if it's something you'd be interested in, but if you check it out and want to learn more feel free to give me a shout. Good luck with the search, brother.

Was trying to find the link to this video earlier that represents our culture well. Also, forgot to mention that we are off of Chastain Meadows in Kennesaw/Marietta. We have at least a couple of guys that are from the Cumming/Lake Lanier part of town.

I cleaned the thread up. WE need to remember that
this is a members thread and not politicize it for him.
I apologize for my part. Sorry about the shitty situation
and good luck Ryan.

Very sorry to hear about it.  I hope you got some sort of servernce and either find something soon or get recalled once the shutdown is over (if that is a possibility).

Send me your resume.  I know many recruiters and will help if I can.

"Laid off" means a lot of different things.  Can you be called back, or is it just PC for fired?  Shitty either way.

Luckily the job market is pretty good these days for people willing to work.

They seemed to indicate that we could be called back in. But at this point I’m just going to go ahead and seek other work. Not sure if I like working a position that can be brought down by an argument about a wall....

Yeah, I bet this situation makes a lot of folks question the benefits of working for the government.

In your case, I wouldn't think you could have known that the shutdown would impact your job.
