Aetna with Trevor 4-6-19
(1/1)
thetastelingers:
Had a good time with Trevor Saturday.
We got to the trail head about 9:45, paid, aired down and headed up.
The Toyota was doing well...

Then this happened.

Went above, hooked to him and it pulled back over easily. They were ok.

Right before the flop, he was backing down and hit the front spring mount on a rock, breaking the mount and spring. That may have contributed to the flop. Unsure though.
Took the Toyota back to the trailhead, put it on the trailer and the guys jumped in Trevor's wifes JK and we headed back up.

Went to the peanut butter hole and watched for a few then played for a bit.

Mine did alright. I hear a little clicking here and there from what I think is the transfer case, but other than that, drove to the trail, then drove home.

This guy was doing donuts in his RZR and flopped it, breaking the bead on his tire. Lifted it up to set the bead and he was on his way.

A couple of random pics on the way back to trail-head.

Had a very good 1/2 day of wheeling. Had to get back to my dads for a Birthday dinner, so we left about 3:30.
Thanks again to Trevor for letting us tag along with him.

Great pictures. Sounds like a good time. I have never been there.
That view from the top is pretty epic
TrevorG:
At first glance I thought the welds had broke where they put the hanger on for the front spring swap...turns out the ears just tore off of the hanger. Given the severity of the break and how little of a beating it took when it broke I'd say that it was already on its way out. I've got a hanger set up from Low Range off-road ordered that is all one piece for both sides so it acts as an additional cross member as well. Shouldn't happen again.
