Did you yell at the bear?
If so, do you think it understood your accent? lol

We did yell at he bear, but it was because we heard the bins rustling and thought it was some teenagers that had been around our campsite earlier. We woke up and jumped out of the tent expecting to confront kids and we were 10 feet from the bear which was climbing into the rear door opening biting into the bin.  The bear just walked off slow and even looked back at us to give us that “whataya gonna do about it” look.  We heard the bear visiting many other campsites that night.

We didn’t have bear spray but I probably wouldn’t have used it if we did. The bear just moved on.

Pics are awesome!  Please keep them coming.

Did it tear up the jeep while trying to get in?

Eric (Jeep owner) was kind of hoping the Jeep would have some marks to go a long with the story. The top and doors were off so the bear had access without having to tear anything open.

So our group consisted of six rigs.

Eric’s JKUR on 37 Coopers (vehicle I was riding in)

Early Bronco with 302/stick/magnum box&NP 205 doubler, D60s F&R and 42 PBRs on H1 rims.

The black bronco with a 351w/C4 or C6/ Dana 20/ D44 from and factory Bronco 9” rear with D44 outers for rear steer, 35 “ BFG krawlers.

A CJ5 with a Chevy 350/stick/Dana 20, Scout D44s F&R, 35” pro comps

Older JKU with Ultimate D60s and 40” Patagonia’s.  All other drivetrain was stock, 3.8/stick/non rubi tcase. This rig was loaded down! 4 people plus tons of camping gear.

Tan-ish LJ Rubicon with all factory rubicon drivetrain, long arm lift and 37” BFG KM2’s.

Monday we headed out to hit the Rubicon starting at the Loon Lake entrance. We hit Soup bowl, little sluice, old sluice, etc and the stopped at Buck Island Lake to camp for the night along the trail.

Little Sluice Box. Not what it use to be from the pictures from the late 90s early 2000s.
