I expect the shaft to stop sliding at some point...gonna be bad when that happens.
Usually that means you’re done. Or she is.

You can pull the shaft apart and push a new cap on.

Get a shock boot & throw on it. Secure it with zip ties or hose clamps.

I ripped the boot/ grease-cap off of my rear Woody & just rubber malleted it back in place. The zerk had been depressed into it & I had to put another one but still holding for now , if that helps ,Travis

I'm not sure if that's similar to the stock JK front DS but my daily driver did that in Cali 2014. I got a spare stock DS and haven't worried about it since, maybe if it goes out one day i'll find out how bad of an issue it actually is.

Your's obviously looks like it costs more haha, so I'd just get underneath, see how much grease is coming out, pack it back, and use a fat set of hose clamps/zip ties to keep it in place for now, contact the mfr and see what they can offer you warranty wise.
It's cheap, it's slow, and it ain't much to look at.....but it's mine and I'm probably gonna make you uncomfortable with the way I drive it.

Wouldn't expect it to be warrantied. I'll probably just clean everything out really well then tack the cap back on

Anyone know know much of an issue is this? I assume it’s just a dust cover?

You can fix that with a roll of duct tape. Its just a dust cover.

If you can't fix it with duct tape, it ain't broken.

I always thought the saying was "if you can't duct it, F*** it, it's broke"

This is Gabe.  He is a good friend of mine.  He had a crew that was supposed to be riding with him that day but they all bailed on him.  I told him to ride with us so he did.  I have been trying to get him to join and start riding with us.  He has a cool little buggy.  Ford 5.0 with Toyota axels and reds.  It works good.
