HACKERS SUCK!

One of my employees went to close on a house yesterday and got delayed. The people before them ran into a snafu. The title company wired the money at the end, asked the sellers to verify that the money had been deposited, no money. After about 20 minutes of waiting they went to go check the wire instructions and they discovered that someone had intercepted the email somehow and was able to change the wire fund instructions and stold the money!

Damn that really really sucks. Not much recourse with a wire transfer. I know when we bought our house the wire transfer instructions had in big bold letters "PLEASE CALL THE OFFICE BEFORE SUBMITTING WIRE TO CONFIRM ACCOUNT NUMBERS". At the time it seemed like an inconvenience, but now I'm glad for the hurdle. Hope your employee can get something figured out.
