« on: February 08, 2009, 10:30:29 PM »
Well we got to go out and try 4 wheeling in the Florida swamps, luckily it was all dried up!

You can tell from the pictures that Florida is in a drought. I was told that almost everywhere we went wheeling is usually under about a foot of water. I'm glad it was dry, I'm not much for boating my jeep ;D

Looks like you could really put a snorkel into use in that area! I like that black 4 door JK too, looks familiar though, wonder if he is on JK owners...

Looks like fun... other than the stinky mud.  ;)

never went to Corbett when I was down there but from the pics I saw it was always DEEP water...they are in a drought but it's also the dry season, go back out there in July/Aug/Sept and I'm sure it would be wet.  I'm sure you're finding out where the spots are but for reference keep an eye/ear out for the Holy Lands, The Hump, Lost Lake, and 8th Street/Bird Road.  The wheeling is definitely different there, lots of black muck but even a lot of that has rock at the bottom so you get traction.

They have a ride planned for the Holy Lands on the 28th, I'm trying to make that. I have been told that 8th street is illegal now. However, there is still a group of guys that go out there. But being the person that I am and trying to promote good wheeling etiquette I choose not to participate. I'm trying to get in with a some guys that go riding on some private property (with permission) that's only about an hour north of me.

And Matt, Florida is nice, but Miami just flat out sucks. Sherry has threaten me a couple of times claiming that she's going back to GA. Spanish is the primary language here and you would be surprised a how many people can not speak English (or choose not to). I don't know if you have ever been to Mexico on a resort or anything, but they speak more English there than they do here in Miami.

And she is coming back to GA....Why? Sounds the same to me minus a nice beach and great weather.
