Thanks for the info! If I cut down the front down do I need to cut the 14b down as well?

You can leave the rear wider if you want, but you can narrow it down to match the front too. I would run a 60 rear though unless you are running a 42"+ tire or want to shave the crap out of the 14b because it is HUGE. The 14b is pretty cool though, you can add a pinion guard and the carrier is practically designed to be welded into a Lincoln locker.

The front will be around 69.5 wide i think most 14bolts are eather 65 or 67 depending on which one you get.  I would definitely pull the cover on them and look at the gears.  I would also look at the king pins as they are a pain to replace.  Are you going to pay a shop to build them for you?  Expect another 1000 in parts at the least to build them.  I payed 80 for my 44 front and i will have arond 1500 in it when i am gone and i did all the work myself building my own brackets also. I also agree if you are not going to be running 37's minimum i wouldn't buy them as they will do more harm than good with lose of ground clearance.  I really wouldn't run them unless you were going to run 40's.  All i am saying is there is alot more to it than just buying them, alot of money and alot of work to make it DD able.

Alex, I'm going to go look at them tomorrow. Somebody has already went through these axles and cleaned them up. They have 4.88 gears installed. From the pictures they look clean but I still want to touch them. Some of the stuff you and Jimmy mention are the same things I'm struggling with. I don't see me going bigger than a 37", I'm not really interested in adding more lift sooooooooo, I'm still considering just swapping out my front axle with the Waggy 44 and just call it quits! Of course, if I do this then I will probably just stick with a 35" tire and learn how to drive it.

If i were you, i would just build the waggy if you dont plan of going over 37's. Trust me i have been wanting to go big forever but when it comes down to it, you can wheel most any trail in the southeast with 35's if you got some driving skills.  I also have alot of fun on 35's and not really care to go any bigger.  I like the idea of being the little guy it makes people take a second look then make it placed people with bigger tires had trouble with.  Tires arn't everything haha.

Chuck I think the kp were from 78 to late 80s. Year doest matter that is the axle you want.

LOL.  I just got home from the lake and saw the photos.  Was on the Blackberry and didn't see any pics.  Def the elusive king pin.  Forgot about the short side on these too.  Great info guys.

Well, after talking to the guys at ROCO's this morning I'm sticking with the Waggy 44 up front. The end!
